{Graduated}

My husband is officially done with his undergraduate career! We finished finals for the fall semester last week, and now Jordan will be free to work full time somewhere (don't know where yet) while I finish my last semester of college. I just know that it's going to be a huge struggle for me to get any work done while Jordan is living a normal post-grad life.

Congrats babe! I'm so proud of you for making it through the past four years and coming out with an Honors GPA and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

4 months from now we will both be done with college and moving on to a completely new adventure. I really can't wait to find out where we will be headed next.

 Doesn't he look handsome with his new specs?

{Mr. Shepherd}

The guy in the photos

If you read this blog then you may have started to notice the same guy showing up in Alli’s photos…that’s me. I have spent the past three years either in the forefront or the background of this lovely lady’s photos…and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Since I’m living the life she is blogging, I figured it was about time I hopped on board. So here is my first post. It is just one of many to come.

We never get bored in Indianapolis.

This weekend Jordan's parents took us for a little getaway to Indy. The city is only an hour away, but it still felt like a big vacation. Indianapolis is one of my favorite cities, so I was happy just to go regardless of what we ended up doing. I think I could spend an entire day just driving down all the neighborhoods admiring the beautiful old homes, or visiting all the cafes and unique places Indy has to offer. It really is an amazing place that is the perfect size. It is a city with character.

Friday night we drove down to Mass Ave, an artsy area filled with galleries, theaters, shops, and restaurants. This is the area where we experienced Indy's finest improv. I had never been to a comedy show before, so I really didn't know what to expect. But this was a fun, clean, performance that was extremely entertaining. We liked that it was set up as a competition between two teams. It was nice to have a good laugh.

The next day was my favorite part.

The Children's Museum!

I love an excuse to act like a little girl. This museum is overflowing with fun toys and constant stimulation. We went from one exhibit to the other doing all the kids activities and experiments. Barbie was the best one in my opinion. What a flashback to the past.

On Monday Jordan and I went down to Indy AGAIN to see our friends Hannah and Santiago. They took us to a delicious Cajun restaurant in broad ripple. I was so thankful to see my lovely Hannah at least once over the summer. The good thing is, we will be roommates this year at IWU and I'll be able to see her everyday. Just another reason to be excited for school to start.

We ate at Payne's. And this time we did not have homework to bring along.

I associate Payne's with evening study sessions. We usually go there during the school year and camp out with our books and assignments. Payne's has the perfect environment to do work in peace, but also get some socializing in. Plus the food is delicious and they have the best custard and coffee drinks. A little cafe like Payne's was exactly where I wanted to be after Jordan, Gabby, and I climbed the rock wall at IWU. The best part of it all was that I could go there without a heavy backpack.

After we ate our meals (pulled pork sandwich for Jordan, apple walnut & brie panini for me) and drank our beverages (Irish cream latte for Jordan, Passion plum tea for me), it was time to pull out the wallets.

Jordan said "our wallets sum up our entire relationship. They perfectly explain our personalities."

I thought it was hilarious. He was so right. After that he continued to describe my wallet and all the ways it shouted Allison. He did the same for himself. It was a fun little game.

Maybe I am just easily amused.

Nothing beats an Indiana sunset.

Sunday evening it was unbelievable.

This sunset topped all the rest I had seen in the past. The sky was changing every minute. Jordan and I were at his house with his parents, and we all noticed the colors in the sky. We stood outside for fifteen minutes just watching in awe as our skin started to glow. I could see Jordan's face becoming illuminated with pink and gold hues and I felt like we were in another world.

I will always appreciate the beauty of Indiana. And I really would love to have another sunset like this.

Another week in Marion filled with fun summer events.

It all started when Jordan and I decided to make yummy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

then we spent an evening in Ft. Wayne shopping, eating at Flat Top Grill, and watching the movie Killers at The Rave.

Today was the demolition derby at the 4-H Fair. I will be adding this to my list of favorite events in Grant County.

Fair food only comes around once in a while, so we had to go all out. It was lemonade, corn dogs, and ice cream for dinner. Suffering through the 90 degree weather was a challenge, but it was worth it to experience the smashing cars, country music, and the lovely and unique crowd at the fairgrounds.

Best moment of the derby:

We topped the evening off by spending some quality time with friends. Jordan and I met up with Time and Gabby at the house and we were all sporting our gray V-necks. True friends must wear the same clothes.

I guess you could say my week was pretty successful.

Jordan took me to Indy for my birthday.

We had already celebrated with everyone else, but it was time for the two of us to have a date night. We spent the whole day together since both of us got called off of work. Our first activity was working out before we left. We ran around my neighborhood in the humidity. I didn't last very long. By then it was lunch, so we got creative and made Hawaiian chicken with salad and noodles. Cooking has become our new hobby.

We left for Indy and headed straight to Teavana. Jordan's gift to me was cast iron tea cups to match my pot. He let me pick out the one's I wanted in the store, and I chose the black cups with dragonflies. I also got some German Rock Sugar, and two new fruit teas: Peachberry Jasmine Sutra, and Pear-Lemon Panache.

PF Changs was our last stop. We go there almost every time we're in Indy. We both ordered Egg Drop soup for starters. My meal was Lo Mein and Jordan had orange chicken. We were satisfied with our choices, and like always we needed a to go bag for our leftovers.

The day was a success. Jordan made it perfect, and I enjoyed every moment.
