DIY time.

I love creating my own accessories. Unfortunately, I haven't learned to sew yet... but I can still find ways to participate in DIY's. If I have some free time, I will be making at least one of these items. I am always happy to come across another cheap and fun way to make something of my own.

A skirt made out of a man's dress shirt.

Felt Rosettes for your hair or crafts

Lavender Sachet

I hope you can get creative with these fun projects!

Nothing beats an Indiana sunset.

Sunday evening it was unbelievable.

This sunset topped all the rest I had seen in the past. The sky was changing every minute. Jordan and I were at his house with his parents, and we all noticed the colors in the sky. We stood outside for fifteen minutes just watching in awe as our skin started to glow. I could see Jordan's face becoming illuminated with pink and gold hues and I felt like we were in another world.

I will always appreciate the beauty of Indiana. And I really would love to have another sunset like this.

Another week in Marion filled with fun summer events.

It all started when Jordan and I decided to make yummy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

then we spent an evening in Ft. Wayne shopping, eating at Flat Top Grill, and watching the movie Killers at The Rave.

Today was the demolition derby at the 4-H Fair. I will be adding this to my list of favorite events in Grant County.

Fair food only comes around once in a while, so we had to go all out. It was lemonade, corn dogs, and ice cream for dinner. Suffering through the 90 degree weather was a challenge, but it was worth it to experience the smashing cars, country music, and the lovely and unique crowd at the fairgrounds.

Best moment of the derby:

We topped the evening off by spending some quality time with friends. Jordan and I met up with Time and Gabby at the house and we were all sporting our gray V-necks. True friends must wear the same clothes.

I guess you could say my week was pretty successful.

Meow.

I am not the only one who loves cats so much. I found some hilarious and adorable photos from blogs of cat lovers like myself.

Although cats are my favorite, I have recently begun a new love for yorkie dogs.

Jordan and I went over to Mark and Lauren's house last night and watched "It's Me or the Dog". The episode featured a little yorkie who's owners spoiled him and treated him like a child. But Victoria's magic transformed him to be a well-behaved and trained dog. By the end of the show I was begging Jordan to get me a yorkie someday.

This chair just looks fun. I think if I sat in one I would feel like a baby bird in a nest.

LACE FENCE! That's right. It is a doily inspired fence.

What a beautiful spacious room. This is the kind of clean home I want to live in. Bright, simple, and unique.

And finally the indoor tent. This reminds me of my childhood. My cousins and I used to build tents that wrapped around our entire basement. We created mazes and rooms. I would live in those tents, and they would stay up for weeks.

I wish I could still build tents.

Hey, it's almost Friday!

Jordan took me to Indy for my birthday.

We had already celebrated with everyone else, but it was time for the two of us to have a date night. We spent the whole day together since both of us got called off of work. Our first activity was working out before we left. We ran around my neighborhood in the humidity. I didn't last very long. By then it was lunch, so we got creative and made Hawaiian chicken with salad and noodles. Cooking has become our new hobby.

We left for Indy and headed straight to Teavana. Jordan's gift to me was cast iron tea cups to match my pot. He let me pick out the one's I wanted in the store, and I chose the black cups with dragonflies. I also got some German Rock Sugar, and two new fruit teas: Peachberry Jasmine Sutra, and Pear-Lemon Panache.

PF Changs was our last stop. We go there almost every time we're in Indy. We both ordered Egg Drop soup for starters. My meal was Lo Mein and Jordan had orange chicken. We were satisfied with our choices, and like always we needed a to go bag for our leftovers.

The day was a success. Jordan made it perfect, and I enjoyed every moment.

Birthday Weekend!

It was a blast.

Jordan and I celebrated my birthday Thursday night with his parents. We went out to dinner at The Mill and came back to their house for strawberry shortcake and gifts. I was so thankful when I open my present to find a gift certificate for an hour long massage.

Friday we drove to Battle Creek and celebrated with my parents and sister. We went to Olive Garden for dinner, and then came home to watch family videos. We were all dying laughing at the memories from my childhood.

This is the cast iron pot my parents got me for my birthday. I have been wanting one of these for a very long time. My tea tastes like heaven now that I have this to steep it in.

Saturday I spent the evening with my closest friends Elise, Marie, and Haley. They decorated Marie's house and had my gift of honey and goodies waiting for me on the table. We made a healthy meal together, and I brought my new cast iron teapot so we could all drink tea afterward. Just staying in and talking with my girlfriends was just what I needed on my birthday.

My friends know me too well. They stuffed a handmade basket with two kinds of honey, coffee from Costa Rica, A little ceramic honey jar, a bumblebee organic candy bar, flower rings, and a Target gift card!

Birthdays always make me feel loved.

I am so blessed to have people around me who build me up and help me to become a better person. I see so many girls who only have shallow friendships without any foundation. There are so many surface level relationships that fade. But I have true, genuine friends that inspire me and push me to grow spiritually, and I know that is hard to find these days. These girls are my beautiful sisters in Christ. And we are such a united group of friends even though we are hardly ever together. We have a lasting bond that only comes from the Lord. Our friendship is truth, and it is all so good and pure. I am thankful. I don't know what I would do without them.
