[Hunger Games Premiere]

Tonight is the night I have been waiting for since I devoured the Hunger Games books over our honeymoon in July. I remember reading the books and telling Jordan "wouldn't this be such a cool movie?! I hope they make one someday."

Well, I got my wish.

 My group of girlfriends and I purchased our tickets back in February for the 12:04 showing in Muncie, Indiana. This week, The Hunger Games fever is buzzing all over campus, and truth be told, my school work has been on the back burner (considering I had to spend all of my time researching about the film and prepare my costume, of course).

Here is the evening line up:

Hair dying: bright teal and teased
Costumes:

- Kate Rush as Primrose Everdeen
- Anna Kujacznski as Cinna
- Bethany Ezawa as Katniss Everdeen

12:04 premiere: two and a half hours of brutal fighting, love triangle, and beautiful capitol fashion


We are currently at the peak of excitement and anticipation. We only have a few hours to wait before we are watching Katniss on the big screen.

And just in case you were wondering, I am team Gale all the way ;)

Ingredients is a documentary about food.

We live in a society where people are more clueless than ever before about where their food comes from. The system of food has cheapened, people are lazy, nutrition is not a top priority, and really, most people will choose the way that is the most convenient to eat a meal and move on with their day. It's so obvious, especially in places like Marion, Indiana where all you see when driving down the bypass is fast food.

The good thing is, not everyone has chosen to live like this. Some people have realized the benefits of eating local, and they are choosing a new path of sustainable food and a connected community. Thanks to the farmers and chefs who work hard to open up the eyes of our culture, because we need to change our habits and fight against the temptation to do what is easiest.

I will admit, I never seriously thought about local food until I studied abroad in Ireland. There, everyone buys local. Food is an experience. Food means community. The Irish will walk into town to specialty shops and take as much time as needed to buy food and prepare their meal. I was fascinated by this, and inspired. And now I want to get moving and live like I care about my health.

Bests

My bests from home were here to visit yesterday. They came to Indiana for tattoos, but ended up coming to Marion for a final goodbye before our dear Elise heads out to Virgina. I hadn't seen these girls since the wedding, and it was a delight to have them back even if it was only for a few hours.

I know I blog about my friends a lot, maybe a bit too much, but they are too awesome not to mention every so often.

House Tour

We are finally settled into our new place, and I am falling more in love with it everyday. I have been craving this....especially after living in cramped dorm rooms for the past three years. Some may say our house is small, but it feels huge to me.

One thing is for sure, I am officially a neat freak. I literally can't stop cleaning and re-organizing everything. Also, I have never slept in a more comfortable bed than our new queen sized "cloud" (we named it). It just sucks you in and doesn't let you out. Getting up for classes in the fall will be a struggle.
